The NIST NVD 2.0 API frequently fails to respond, drops requests, and is rate limited creating reliability issues for organizations that integrate their vulnerability management processes with it.
NVD++ solves these challenges with a reliable, persistent connection to our Community NVD 2.0 API that operates at machine speed. VulnCheck is committed to offering access to NVD 2.0 and 1.0 data with our complementary Community API. We also enrich NVD 2.0 w/ VulnCheck CPE.
The MITRE CVE Program provides the CVE List, which is accessible through GitHub. There is a desire within the community to access both the NVD and MITRE CVE lists through API from a single source.
NVD++ provides access to the Mitre CVE Program's CVE List through an API, allowing organizations to access NVD, CVElist, and VulnCheck KEV (inclusive of CISA KEV) from a single source.
For years, NIST has supplied downloadable NVD RSS data feeds. The NVD 1.0 API was Introduced in 2021, providing direct integration to the CVE data. In 2022, NIST released the beta version of the NVD 2.0 API and encouraged users to migrate, while announcing the retirement of 1.0. The 1.0 API is now retired, and RSS data feeds are scheduled to end in 2024.
NVD++ guarantees ongoing access to this legacy data format with the Community NVD 1.0 API, as well as downloadable backup data files. Access to these unique resources is available at no cost through the Community. We also enrich NVD 1.0 w/ VulnCheck CPE.
